Céline Chat

Céline Chat is a visual artist and sculptor.

Céline Chat travels the world, living with locals for several months, learning about the different cultures she encounters.

In her luggage, she carries tubes of color, canvas and other finds collected on the road.

From each destination a new series of paintings was born, which she exhibited on site or when she returned to France.

Over time, his work is recognized by institutions: personal and collective exhibitions multiply.

His paintings and his now identifiable style are the subject of publications in several art books in France and the United States.

Some of his paintings and drawings will be used as covers and illustrations for books and magazines.

Through his works, the artist reacts to the news, and to what surrounds him in a very great freedom of materials, supports and techniques. The goal for her being to reflect the energy that carries her in the moment.

Céline Chat therefore aspires to transmit her emotions, her humanist and environmental messages, her observations on certain features of our lives in our globalized societies.

In 2016, by setting down her suitcases in Guadeloupe, the artist continues her creative process and naturally draws inspiration from this new "home".

In order to make Art accessible to all and to finance her artistic research, she creates workshops for children and derivative objects that she distributes in Guadeloupe, Martinique and on the French west coast.

In 2020, still driven by her desire to highlight what is important to these eyes, she is organizing her first major collective exhibition dedicated to Guadeloupean women artists. For this first edition, she presents 8 female artists met on the island since her installation. This exhibition is a success and will be the subject of a second edition in March 2022.
